Person to Interview

I would like to talk to someone that really enjoys archery hunting. I would like for them to have gone on a few hunting adventures out west and be able to compare that to hunting here. I have a couple of relatives that I could talk to or try to find someone at a local archery shop.

Annotated Bibliography

Today I finished my annotated bibliography and submit it electronically. Tomorrow I will turn in a hard copy. I had to find a few new sources that were not on my proposal which delayed me a little bit. Although, I am still not confident that my sources provide me enough information to write the research paper.

Topic Change

I turned in a research proposal that was on a computer's motherboard. In the proposal I only had a few sources that why I decided to change my topic. My new topic is now on left-handedness.

Topic

I am leaning towards writing about computer hardware. I know this is a broad topic and I am currently searching for something that interests me.

Possible paper topics

1. How do electronic devices work?

For this topic I am particularly curious how the devices are programmed or at least constructed so they perform the tasks they do. An example of one of these would be a cell phone. I am a computer science major and have written a few computer programs and I would like to know if there are any similarities between programming computers and other electronic devices? Also computers have an operating system that controls all the actions, do electronic devices have a main control unit?

2. What steps did Bill Gates take to become the CEO of Microsoft?

I would like to know more about him. What were some of his previous jobs? Education? Hobbies? I am not particularly interested in his wealth but how he became successful. Did he do it on his own or was there a lot of help involved?

3. What are the hardware devices of a computer and what do they contribute?

This topic would give me an opportunity to get some background information on computer hardware for future classes that I am required to take for my major. I already know a little bit about the purposes of the external hardware devices such as the keyboard, mouse, monitor, and speakers but not much about hardware inside the box. Hence, the focus of my research paper would be primarily on the internal hardware.
